Building Better Men Weekends

Building Better Men Weekends are customized weekend retreats designed solely for the benefit of the host chapter. The program is a chapter-based retreat designed to help a chapter succeed within the 21st century. Spur your chapter to great campus and international success and apply today

Every member of the chapter must assume the qualities of leadership: the ability to adapt to change, take charge when necessary and accept responsibilities for one's actions and decisions. This retreat will prepare your chapter to develop members to demonstrate greater initiative and accountability, while striving for continuous improvement of your operations and founding principled programming. Each retreat comes with a Chapter Action Plan Coach to help your chapter continue the learning from the retreat.

General Information
The goal of a Building Better Men Weekend is to create positive change within your chapter. This is accomplished by the curriculum, discussions and activity throughout the retreat. All sessions offer hands-on activities and ample time for discussion to talk through individual and chapter concerns. Trained facilitators will be brought in to help the chapter learn, be challenged, and develop specific plans of actions for future success.
Curriculum/Activities

The curriculum/activities for each Building Better Men Weekend is tailored to the individual chapter. The general structure of a weekend includes hands-on activities, critical discussions, brotherhood bonding, and both large and small group breakout time to create a unified experience.
Reasons to Host a Building Better Men Weekend:

  • To challenge your members and your entire chapter
  • Increase effectiveness of communication between your members and alumni
  • Tackle issues facing your chapter and university/college community
  • Shape the future of your chapter
  • Identify the future leaders of your chapter
  • Create goals and action plans for the year ahead

Chapter Action Plan Coach
Retreats are great at encouraging behavioral change within your chapter, but what happens after the retreat is over and members go back to their everyday lives? Building Better Men Weekends understands that follow-up is just as important as the retreat itself.

Retreat investments are significant only to have the chapter leaders, members and advisory team quickly lose sight of how well new behavior is being applied when the retreat is over. Without appropriate follow-up and accountability systems in place, chapter action plans, progress and achievements are easily forgetten and the expected results may not materialize.

Chapter Action Plan Coaches (APC) is a volunteer that works directly with your chapter to help improve learning and accountability by tracking post-retreat activities. The APC allows you to have an accountability partner to help the chapter navigate: chapter goals and action plans, timelines and due dates for specific activities, progress being made by the chapter and achievement of the goals and desired results, this is all included with your Building Better Men Weekend Investment.
