Register now for the 2012 Recruitment Symposium.
The Recruitment Symposium will be held just prior to the 2012 Leadership Institute in the same location. Attendees may also choose to stay for the duration of the Leadership Institute, but must register for it separately on the Leadership Institute webpage.
Registration Cost
Each chapter/colony is expected to send their vice president of membership recruitment (or approved designee). This one registration is free and includes lodging, program materials, and some meals. A travel reimbursement, up to a pre-determined amount, is also provided for this attendee. Additional members may attend at a cost of:
- $100 (one night quad lodging, program materials, some meals) plus travel
- $125 (two nights quad lodging, program materials, some meals) plus travel
Registration Deadline
To guarantee your spot, please register by Friday, June 15, 2012. Registrations after that date will be accepted on a space-available basis.
Schedule
The Recruitment Symposium will begin on Wednesday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. and conclude on Thursday, August 2 at 3:00 p.m. All participants are expected to stay for the duration of the program. Failure to do so may result in loss of the complimentary registration. Additional schedule details will be provided to program participants prior to the event. | Flying:
Participants flying to the Recruitment Symposium should fly into Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) or Chicago Midway Airport (MDW). Please ensure your flight arrives by 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1. If flight schedules prohibit you from arriving in time on Wednesday, you may arrive on Tuesday, July 31 in the evening. Please indicate this on your registration form. Departing flights may be scheduled after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2. You will be responsible for transportation from the airport to the hotel. |
- GO Airport Express Shuttle: Reservations can be made on the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza website.
- CTA Train (the "L" or "EL"): Directions for taking the train from either airport can be found here.
- Taxi: Cost is approximately $40 one way from O'Hare and $30 one way from Midway.
Driving
If your chapter/colony is approximately a five hour drive or less from Chicago, you will be expected to drive. Participants driving to the Recruitment Symposium will drive directly to the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza on Wednesday, August 1. Please plan to arrive at the hotel by noon. Chicago is in the Central Time Zone. The vice president of membership recruitment (or approved designee) will be reimbursed for travel from their home chapter/colony (up to the pre-determined amount). Flying
- You must provide a copy of your itinerary/receipt to IHQ before reimbursement will be given. You can send your itinerary/receipt to ihq@deltau.org
- The maximum reimbursement amount is determined by a four-week advanced ticket purchase, with attendee traveling from the location of the chapter/colony. This does not mean you have to travel from the chapter/colony location to receive reimbursement, but this is the location used to determine the reimbursement limit.
- If you cannot find a flight within the reimbursement limit or if you will have to arrive on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, please notify Jana McClees at 318-875-8900 or mcclees@deltau.org.
Driving
- If your chapter/colony location is approximately a five hour drive or less from Chicago, you will be expected to drive.
- The cap for mileage reimbursement is set at the round trip mileage from your chapter/colony location to the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza.
- Mileage is reimbursed at 25 cents per mile.
