FINALISTS
Jack Bell, Missouri '22

Jordan McGinty, Louisville ’22, was named the 2022 Distinguished Undergraduate, the top honor bestowed upon an undergraduate member. This award recognizes a brother's accomplishments in his chapter, on campus and in the community throughout his time as an undergraduate.

During his time at the University of Louisville, Jordan was a leader on campus and within Delta Upsilon. The Political Science and Criminal Justice double major served DU as his chapter's Vice President of Recruitment and as an Undergraduate Director on the International Fraternity Board of Directors for the 2021-2022 academic year. On campus, he served on the IFC Judicial Board, as President of the Commuter Student Council, Vice President of the Campus Lions Club, a raiseRed Student Outreach Coordinator and Morale Captain, and member of the university’s Strategic Plan Committee. With Young Americans for Liberty, Jordan served as the Louisville President and Kentucky Recruitment Director. He was a campus Strickler Scholar, a member of Phi Sigma Alpha honor society, and received the campus Outstanding Junior Award and Profile in Leadership Award.

After graduation, Jordan now works in the political sector aiding campaigns with volunteer recruitment and fundraising efforts while working on his MBA at the University of Louisville.

"This honor means a lot to me as it recognizes my achievements and service over these past four years to my chapter, campus and community," Jordan said. "I know that I will be forever grateful to DU and the Louisville Chapter for the memories, guidance and lifelong brotherhood our Fraternity offers."

Jordan's advice to all DU undergraduates is to identify the aspects of the Fraternity that are important to them and work to improve them. "There is an opportunity in each of our chapters for you to play a role, big or small, in improving and building your chapter."

President’s Award: Chapter President of the Year
Liam O'Brien, Florida ’22

Liam O'Brien, Florida '22, was honored with the 2022 President's Award: Chapter President of the Year. This award recognizes the Chapter President who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in his chapter and is dedicated to the Principles of Delta Upsilon.

Liam is currently serving his second term as Chapter President. After joining DU, he immediately jumped into leadership roles to help his chapter, which was struggling operationally and with recruitment. He served as Vice President of Recruitment and Vice President of Membership Education before becoming President.

According to alumni, Liam's leadership has helped the chapter attract new members, re-engage with alumni and the campus community, and build an operational framework for success.

"Being the recipient of the 2022 President’s Award has been one of the greatest accomplishments I have received working with this great Fraternity over the last four years," Liam said. "It’s the showcase of all the efforts I have put into my chapter to cultivate and grow both the men of my chapter and the house itself."

To other Chapter Presidents, Liam offers the following words of encouragement: "Your work matters and it is seen. Don’t be afraid to try something new the chapter hasn’t done before. You may be surprised to see it work out."
