Associate Chapter Ceremony Held for Carnegie

Nov. 10, 2025 - Delta Upsilon has officially returned to Carnegie Mellon University! On Nov. 8, 2025, DU held the Associate Chapter Ceremony and Pledging Ceremony for the group. The Carnegie Chapter first opened in December 1917. It closed in 2008, reopened in 2014, and closed again in 2016. 

Expansion efforts for Carnegie began in spring 2025 with International Fraternity staff leading virtual expansion recruitment efforts. In-person recruitment began in fall 2025. At the time of the Associate Chapter Ceremony, nine men had joined the group pledged into the Fraternity. The ceremonies were held in the Simmons Auditorium, a part of the university's Tepper School of Business. A reception was held afterward for the associate members and guests.

The Carnegie Associate Chapter will continue to recruit new members and set up chapter operations as it works toward the requirements for re-chartering. If you know unaffiliated students at CMU who you would like to recommend for membership, complete the Member Interest/Referral Form.
