In 1984—during the Fraternity's 150th anniversary celebration—Delta Upsilon honored three brothers who were NASA astronauts with the Distinguished Delta Upsilon Award. As a token of their appreciation, they gifted the Fraternity with this collection of patches worn during their space missions.

On the left is the patch Rick Hauck, Tufts '62, wore on board the second flight of the Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-7), June 18-24, 1983.

In the middle is the patch from Terry Hart, Lehigh '68, and his satellite repair mission aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger (STS 41-C), April 6-13, 1984.

On the left is the patch Brewster Shaw, Wisconsin '67, wore on Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-9) during the mission of Spacelab 1, Nov. 28-Dec. 8, 1983.
