Fall 2025 Delta Upsilon Quarterly
Jordan Lotsoff Named Distinguished Delta Upsilon
For the past four decades, Jordan Lotsoff, Northern Illinois ’88, has selflessly devoted himself to Delta Upsilon. In recognition of his service, the Fraternity presented him with the Distinguished Delta Upsilon Award during the Grand Banquet of the 2025 Leadership Institute.
The Distinguished Delta Upsilon Award was first given in 1984 and is the top individual honor DU bestows on a member. Its intent is to recognize those whose exemplary service has had a direct impact on the Fraternity.
Following his graduation in 1988, Brother Lotsoff joined the Fraternity’s professional staff, serving as a Leadership Consultant and then as Director of Chapter Services. Today, he continues to have a successful career in insurance where he currently serves as Vice President of Fundamental Underwriters for AF Group, which offers insurance products designed for trucking accounts, healthcare and nonprofit organizations.
Using his professional background in insurance, Lotsoff has been instrumental in DU’s Loss Prevention and insurance programs. He served two terms on the International Fraternity’s Board of Directors (from 1998-2004 and again from 2011-2016) and has been DU’s Loss Prevention Chairman for the past 25 years. In addition, Lotsoff served in numerous leadership roles for the Fraternity’s former insurance captive, FRMT, and was instrumental in the creation of DU’s new insurance captive, which launched in 2024. As Chairman of this new entity, Brother Lotsoff has reinforced his central role in safeguarding DU’s future.
“For as long as I've been involved as a volunteer in the Fraternity, Jordan has always been there right in front of me, showing us the way, teaching us, and always demonstrating a care and concern,” said International Fraternity President Tom Durein, Oregon State ’92. "There's no end, in my opinion, to what we have been able to garner from Jordan.”
Beyond his leadership and service to the Fraternity, Lotsoff has also been a lifelong supporter of the DU Educational Foundation and was a significant donor to the Ignite The Charge Campaign, exemplifying his deep commitment to DU.
Fellow Distinguished DU Craig Franz, Bucknell ’75, presented Lotsoff with the award. During his acceptance speech, Lotsoff spoke of his DU journey and how the people and connections you make within the Fraternity can shape your life. He particularly spoke about how Bill Bittner, Bradley ’74, convinced him to join the Fraternity staff after graduation and then helped him get his first job in insurance.
“There's nothing that can compare to what the Fraternity has given to me,” Lotsoff said. “What I'm going to say to you undergrads that are here today, take advantage of what you've done as an undergrad. But then take advantage of what you can do, and what the Fraternity can do for you, as an alumnus. Thank you. I appreciate this award. I am deeply humbled.”
