Jose joined the Delta Upsilon staff in July 2026 as Director of Chapter Development. In this role, he works with a portfolio of undergraduate chapters to provide chapter operations support. He also oversees the Men of Merit Chapter Standards Program and Chapter Excellence Plan.

Jose has two decades of experience in higher education. Prior to joining the DU staff, he served the University of Houston - Downtown in a number of roles, most recently as the Associate Director, Student Leadership & Involvement. During his time at the university, Jose launched and directed the award-winning Mariachi Los Caimanes and founded the nationally recognized UHD Esports program. He has also spent 20 years serving as Music Director at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Porte, TX.

As a brother of Delta Upsilon, Jose has served the Fraternity in a number of volunteer roles. He has served as an educational program facilitator for programs like President's Academy, DU Emerging Leaders Experience and more. He has also been an active member of the Houston Alumni Chapter, serving as Alumni Chapter President from 2025-2026. 

Jose is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society (MSU chapter) and Order of Omega. He received the 2025 Golden Duck Award from Delta Upsilon's Arlington Chapter.

HOBBIES

Jose loves hiking, having visited 19 National Parks. He likes to watch sports (MLB/NBA/NFL), grew up playing competitive soccer, and is a fan of Club America in Mexico City. He has a shih tzu named Gizmo.
