In May, the Cal Poly Alumni Chapter hosted its 61st annual alumni gathering at Bass Lake in California. With more than 150 attendees, this event continues to showcase brotherhood and the importance of having a strong alumni chapter and local educational foundation. The alumni awarded $15,000 in scholarships to undergraduates.


Long Beach

Brother Joseph Ayala, Long Beach ’96, was appointed to the Simi Valley, California City Council in March 2025. His appointment to serve District 1 filled a vacancy on the council and will run through 2026 when the seat is up for election.

Brother Ayala is a longtime Simi Valley resident and has more than 30 years of experience in leadership, communication and public service. In his professional career, he serves as the Director of the Proposal Development Center at Teradata, leading global strategy and AI adoption initiatives. Since 2016, he has been a lecturer at California State University, Northridge, specializing in public speaking and corporate communications. Joseph also serves on the Simi Valley Education Foundation Board, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Paratransit Advisory Committee, Regional Defense Partnership for the 21st Century, Ventura County Animal Services Commission, and the Ventura County Regional Energy Alliance. He serves as a Simi Valley Youth Council liaison.
