2025 McQuaid Scholarship Recipients

July 31, 2025 - Founded in 1949, the original purpose of the Educational Foundation was to provide tuition scholarships to Delta Upsilon members. Today, the Foundation provides several funding sources for the Fraternity and its members, and academic scholarships remain a priority.
Each academic year, the DU Educational Foundation awards merit-based undergraduate and graduate tuition scholarships of $1,000 each. Members of Delta Upsilon who meet the scholarship qualifications are eligible. Recipients are selected by a scholarship committee and announced at the Leadership Institute each summer. Recipients receive a certificate, recognition in the Annual Report, and have their names engraved on a plaque at the DU International Headquarters.
Delta Upsilon's McQuaid Scholarships are provided by the McQuaid Scholarship Fund which was established in July 2000 thanks to the generosity of the Delta Upsilon International Fraternity and other DU alumni. These scholarships are a tribute to James D. McQuaid, Chicago ’60, for his service and contributions to Delta Upsilon as a six-year president of the International Fraternity and longtime advisor to the Chicago Chapter.
At the 2025 Leadership Institute in Louisville, Kentucky, the DU Educational Foundation announced the 14 McQuaid Scholarship recipients for the 2025-2026 academic year. Those in attendance at LI were recognized on stage with a certificate.
