Chapter News
Alberta
This spring, the Alberta Chapter hosted a wildly successful Bike-a-thon event. The event raised $6,668 for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. However, thanks to the foundation’s partners at CPKC, that donation was tripled, leaving an impact of $20,004. The chapter also welcomed six new brothers and participated in a number of campus fraternity/sorority events.

Arlington
The Arlington Chapter prides itself on its alumni relations and community involvement, often combining the two. The chapter’s annual Pickleball Tournament brought more than 30 alumni to the event and raised over $1,500 for the Global Service Initiative. The Hawaiian is an annual dinner tradition that brings alumni and undergraduates together for an evening of great food and conversation at local Arlington restaurants. The chapter’s bi-annual Officers Retreat at Big Shelton Ranch also allows chapter officers, advisors and alumni to collaborate on goals and plans for the chapter.

Christopher Newport
The Christopher Newport Chapter had two alumni guest speakers during the Associate Member Education Program. Klaus Deim, Christopher Newport ’98, spoke about leadership in a fraternal organization, and Tom Rowe, Kansas ’85, gave his insights on values and academic success.
On May 1, the chapter co-hosted a philanthropy cookout with Alpha Phi with yard games like cornhole, football and spikeball. For the cookout and bake sale, the chapters sold hamburgers, hotdogs, cookies and blueberry lemonade.
Clarkson
Campus engagement and creating strong connections with faculty and staff are important to the Clarkson Chapter. The chapter welcomed acting University President David Heacock to the house for dinner, as well as new President Dr. Michelle Larson after she was hired. During an alumni mixer, the alumni presented the chapter with a handcrafted model of the chapter’s original house.
The Clarkson Chapter is proud to have been recognized with the highest GPA and highest new member GPA among all fraternities and sororities on campus, as well as most service hours per member. During the campus Phalanx Awards, the chapter was recognized with the Greek Life Award and Distinguished Service Award.
DePauw
This spring, the DePauw Chapter received the university's Chapter of the Year Award for excellence in all areas of chapter performance and the contributions to campus life. The chapter also received the Excellence in Academic Achievement Award for its 3.53 cumulative GPA and the Excellence in Membership Development Award for its dedication to associate member education. Twenty new brothers were initiated on March 8, and the chapter raised more than $1,700 for United Way Youth Literacy through the campus’ annual Little 500 bike race. During the Rent-a-DU event, the brothers performed odd jobs around the community and raised over $2,200 for a program to house and assist at-risk youth.
Two brothers, Alex Bittle, DePauw ’25, and Cole Melton, DePauw ’26, were initiated into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society this spring. Additionally, Raj Yadav, DePauw ’26; Agha Moiz, DePauw ’26; Samip Devkota, DePauw ’26; Calvin Mensel, DePauw ’27; and Joshua Grossman-Teller, DePauw ’27, were initiated into the Order of Omega.

Embry-Riddle
Throughout the spring semester, Embry-Riddle Chapter brothers took part in several construction projects with Habitat for Humanity. They also had the opportunity to take part in a Regional GSI service project with the Florida Chapter where the men assisted the Repurpose Project in Gainesville. The chapter thanks Owen Dover, Embry-Riddle ’27, who was responsible for making these service opportunities possible. The chapter is also proud to have won first place in Theta Phi Alpha’s Cutie Pie competition and first place for fraternities during the Greek Weekend Competitions.
Brother Ryan Bailey, Embry-Riddle ’27, was elected as Team Lead for the school's Design-Build-Fly club team. Nicholas Albrittton, Embry-Riddle ’27, received the Crosby Army ROTC scholarship and was admitted to Air Assault School.
Florida
On March 8, the Florida Chapter participated in the university's The Big Event, an annual gathering of campus organizations to perform service in the Gainesville community. This year, the chapter was assigned to prepare decorations for Stop Children's Cancer, a local nonprofit business donating money to children’s hospitals. The brothers had a lot of fun building boxes, folding napkins, and spending time with the manager for Stop Children’s Cancer.
This semester, the chapter introduced “Cooking with Carlos,” a member education event that employs Carlos, the house dad, to help instruct and educate the chapter on all matter related to cooking. On April 17, Carlos taught the chapter how to grill pizzas.

Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech Chapter hosted an Atlanta Braves watch party during the opening series of the season. Alumni of all ages came to the event to cheer on the Braves and impart their wisdom on the undergraduates. Nineteen new brothers were also initiated into the chapter this past year.
The brothers continue their work with Food 4 Lives, an organization that assists the unhoused in Atlanta. During Homecoming weekend, the chapter hosted a wiffleball tournament to raise money for Food 4 Lives, and in February, the DU brothers worked with Alpha Gamma Delta sisters on a day of service with the group.

Illinois
Philanthropy was a priority for the Illinois Chapter this spring. To raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness, the chapter partnered with Panda Express on a giveback night with a portion of the restaurant’s proceeds going toward the cause. The chapter was also proud to welcome two new members this spring.
Iowa State
During the Iowa State Chapter’s spring DU Drive Through event, the brothers sold loaded fries and root beer floats to raise more than $4,000 for the Global Service Initiative. The chapter leveraged local partnerships for this event, with root beer from 1919 Root Beer and fries donated by Culver’s. This year, the chapter raised over $10,000 for GSI—a first in the chapter’s history.
With a "Harry Potter, the Greek who Lived” theme, the chapter and its Homecoming partners at Alpha Gamma Delta placed second in soccer and fourth place in football, while receiving the Best Crowd Interaction and Most Outstanding Main Character during the Lip Sync competition. In total, DU and AGD raised over $30,000 for the Special Olympics of Iowa.

Louisville
The Louisville Chapter hosted an associate member retreat the Monday before Initiation that included a Jeopardy night where each associate member was a captain of a team of initiated brothers and played a game of Jeopardy involving all things DU, such as local and national history, important figures, and dates. All six spring associate members attended, as well as the majority of initiated brothers.
Miami
The Miami Chapter and its brothers had an exciting year. Following a successful recruitment, the chapter welcomed 24 new brothers. The men also won the campus Greek Week and hosted its longstanding Puddle Pull competition. Three senior members on the Miami Club Hockey team made regionals, with one being named Most Valuable Player.
Missouri
This year, the Missouri Chapter hosted four service events with The Food Bank for Northeast and Central Missouri. During each event, brothers packed cans of food to be sent to people in need, as well as performed light cleaning around the facility. During the campus fraternity/sorority life awards, the chapter received a Chapter of Excellence Award, the Excellence in Civic/Community Engagement Award, and Academic Achievement recognition. Alumnus and Past Delta Upsilon Fraternity President Bruce McKinney, Missouri ’74, and his wife, Teresa, were presented with a 2025 Director’s Award for Community Advocacy.

Nebraska
Philanthropy was important to the Nebraska Chapter this spring. The brothers hosted their annual DU Donuts event and raised more than $3,500 for the Global Service Initiative. They also participated in the campus’ Dance Marathon Fundraiser and helped raise more than $111,000 for Children’s Nebraska. The chapter was also proud to welcome five new members this spring.

Purdue
The Purdue Chapter wants to make the DU experience possible for more men on campus. With a focus on recruitment, the chapter nearly tripled its size over the past year. More than 40 men were recruited in the fall, and another 24 in the spring. The chapter hosted recruitment events like BBQ and Blackjack, Poker and Panda, and mini golf for brothers and potential members. The chapter also understands that campus involvement plays a direct role in recruitment. The men have made it a priority to participate in and host campus events, including having a larger presence in the Purdue Grand Prix go-kart race.
Quinnipiac
The Quinnipiac Chapter took home several awards during the campus Fraternity/Sorority Life Awards. Alex Han, Quinnipiac ’26, received the Executive Officer of the Year Award for his work as VP Administration. Dylan Bonacic, Quinnipiac ’27, received the New Member of the Year Award. David Roy, Quinnipiac ’28, received the Fraternal Values Award, and the chapter received the Fraternal Collaboration Award. Will Ryan, Quinnipiac ’26, was appointed as a member of the 2025 Cornerstone Class.
The chapter participated in a variety of service projects this spring, building new relationships with Haven's Harvest, a nonprofit food distribution/collection organization that works to collect food and other goods from restaurants and stores to distribute to those in need. Brothers also returned to YMCA Camp Sloper for the campus’ Big Event for the third year in a row, setting up the camp's massive space for summer campers. Finally, for QTHON, the chapter paired with Kappa Delta to make homemade pillows for the children in the Connecticut Children's Hospitals.

Tennessee
The Tennessee Chapter has focused on building brotherhood this year. The brothers held an exciting formal at the top of the Sunsphere in Knoxville and hosted several social events with other groups on campus. To further connect brothers to DU’s Principles, the chapter has installed a Chaplain position that has focused on Fraternity songs on traditions.
The chapter is proud of Brother Caleb Massengill, Tennessee ’26, for his election as President of Order of Omega and Austin Koehler, Tennessee ’26, on his initiation into the honors society.

Western Illinois
Philanthropy continues to be a cornerstone of the Western Illinois Chapter’s operations. In March, the chapter’s annual Delta Hoopsilon 3-on-3 basketball tournament raised more than $2,000 for local charities and the Global Service Initiative. This event and an accompanying 50/50 resulted in $818 given to the Salvation Army and raffle winner Bob Moore giving his money to St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
The chapter congratulates Brother Joe Cantu, Western Illinois ’25, on receiving the Gordon A. Taylor Student Leadership Award from the university, as well as Sebastian Sandoval, Western Illinois ’26, on receiving the Quiet Leadership Award.

Wichita
The Wichita Chapter stayed busy this spring participating in a variety of campus events. The brothers participated in the university’s annual Hippodrome event by doing a parody of the movie “Inside Out” with Gamma Phi Beta. The chapter’s annual Nachofest fundraiser raised money while serving all you can eat nachos to guests, and the chapter and its alumni board hosted their annual mixer at the Wichita State baseball game.
Chapter President David Eby, Wichita ’26, won the Greek Male Junior of the Year at the campus Fraternity and Sorority life awards.
