Associate Chapter Ceremony held for Wilmington

March 23, 2026 - Delta Upsilon has officially returned to The University of North Carolina, Wilmington. On March 21, 2026, DU held the Associate Chapter Ceremony and Pledging Ceremony for the group. The Wilmington Chapter first opened in February 1974 as the Fraternity's 118th chapter. It closed in 1977. 

Expansion efforts for Wilmington began in fall 2025 with virtual recruitment efforts. At the start of the spring 2026 term, DU staff began in-person recruitment to find more men to join the interest group. At the time of the Associate Chapter Ceremony, 18 men had joined the group and pledged into the Fraternity. The ceremonies were held in the Azalea Room of the Fisher Student Center. A reception was held afterward for the associate members and guests.

The Wilmington Associate Chapter will continue to recruit new members and set up chapter operations as it works toward the requirements for re-chartering. If you know unaffiliated students at UNCW who you would like to recommend for membership, complete the Member Interest/Referral Form.
