Dominic Greene to join DU staff as Director of Health & Safety Initiatives

Delta Upsilon is pleased to announce Dominic Greene, Oregon ’99, will join its International Headquarters team as Director of Health & Safety Initiatives on Aug. 1.

This new position was created following the Delta Upsilon Board of Directors’ May 2018 announcement of a substance-free housing policy that will take effect for DU chapters in fall 2020. In this new role, Greene will oversee the implementation of this policy, develop resources for chapters, and work on the Fraternity’s alcohol education curriculum.

“Delta Upsilon is excited to have Dominic join us in this role,” said Delta Upsilon Executive Director Justin Kirk, Boise State ’00. “With his background in higher education, and as a brother and long-time volunteer, Dominic is well-suited to help Delta Upsilon advance major initiatives to improve the health and safety of our members and guests. We are thrilled to have him on the team.”

Greene earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon where he served DU as the Oregon Chapter President. Following graduation, we went on to work for the Fraternity as a Leadership Consultant from 1999 to 2000, then Expansion & Recruitment Director from 2000-2001. He later earned his master’s of education from the University of South Florida.

Greene rejoins the DU team with an extensive background in higher education and the fraternity/sorority community. Most recently, he served the North-American Interfraternity Conference as Vice President of Campus Operations for the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions where he delivered campus support to fraternity communities and contributed to NIC educational and advocacy initiatives. Prior to that, as a campus-based professional, Greene’s experience spanned fraternity/sorority life, student activities, leadership development and residence life. He has served as Director of Student Activities at American University and as Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Northwestern University.

“Dominic’s contributions have helped us build positive relationships with IFCs and university partners as we launched our Campus Support Model,” said NIC President and CEO Judson Horras. “We look forward to his continued success as he returns to Delta Upsilon to advance health and safety initiatives.”

Greene is a trainer with the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP) and was the co-chairman for the Campus Coalition for Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) while at Northwestern. As a volunteer, he has also facilitated almost 100 interfraternal leadership programs, including the NIC’s Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI), Impact and Alcohol Summit sessions. He has been recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA), and Beta Theta Pi has also honored Greene with its Interfraternalism Recognition Award and Regional Volunteer Award for his work as a program facilitator and chapter advisor. He received Delta Upsilon’s William H.P. Faunce Interfraternalism Award in 2017.

Established on Nov. 4, 1834, Delta Upsilon is an international men's college fraternity with 76 chapters and colonies across the United States and Canada. The Fraternity, founded at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, is the oldest, non-secret, Greek-letter society and is committed to Building Better Men for a global society through its Four Founding Principles: friendship, character, culture and justice. More than 133,000 men have joined the Delta Upsilon Fraternity since its founding more than 183 years ago.
